Please reach us at hello@iamthatfriend.life if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I Am That Friend is a place where survivors of trauma, narcissistic abuse, childhood abuse, trafficking, and complex PTSD can find understanding, education, validation, and hope. My goal is to help you make sense of what happened to you, rebuild trust in yourself, and move toward the life you want to live.
The objective is to create a meaningful positive impact on the world today and for future generations.
More specifically, I intend to be a beacon of hope and understanding. Like many survivors of childhood abuse, I spent decades conditioned to believe I was worthless, that I should remain silent and compliant, have no needs or boundaries, and exist as little as possible. We are taught to be comfortable with mistreatment, and as a result, we often continue to engage in similar toxic relationships throughout our lives. Unknowingly, we continuously seek out the torturous familiarity that defined our early home environment.
I believe that to stop that cycle, clarity and understanding are necessary. My goal is to help people gain the knowledge and understanding they need to find clarity. With clarity comes hope and healing. Ultimately, this can lead to ending the painful cycle that life has become, stopping generational trauma, and leading to a life they want to live.
I created this community to be the friend so many of us never had; someone who understands, believes you, and walks alongside you. To create a life that we only look back on, to see how far we've come.
Anyone who can benefit from it.
Many of the people who have benefited have experienced:
Childhood trauma
Narcissistic abuse
Emotional abuse
Sexual abuse
Trafficking
Psychological abuse
Gaslighting
Trauma bonds
Scapegoating
Coercive control
Complex PTSD
Absolutely not. Abuse impacts individuals of all genders, ages, races, and backgrounds. Everyone deserves compassion and the opportunity for healing.
This community is founded on the belief that healing doesn't occur simply because someone urges you to "move on," "get over it," or forget about your experiences. Instead, people heal through understanding, dedication, support, knowledge, and clarity; often progressing just one small step at a time. I aim to accompany you on your journey; I won't judge you, rush you, or dictate who you should become. Healing unfolds one step at a time, and you don’t have to navigate that path alone.

No.
I am not a licensed therapist or counselor.
My content is intended to support, not replace, professional mental health care.
These materials are based on my own experiences as a survivor of childhood abuse and trafficking, along with the consequences that followed. I have worked hard to heal, taking small steps every day to improve.
These resources are supplementary and should not be considered a complete solution for your needs. They are not a substitute for professional guidance. I highly recommend that you seek a professional who is a good fit for you and can help you on this path. Various techniques and therapies can be vital in your healing process; they have certainly been game-changers and lifesavers for me.

Not yet.
I have written over 30 chapters that share parts of my personal story, but they have not been published in book form yet. If the right opportunity arises in the future, I would love to publish my story so that it can reach and help more people.
Some chapters were previously available on this website, while others had not yet been released. Certain chapters were accessible here and on social media for a period of time, but they have since been removed.
There are important reasons for this decision, which I am not sharing publicly at the moment. I intend to make these chapters available again in the future when the time is right. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Will new chapters be released in the future? Yes, I plan to re-release the previously published chapters along with additional chapters in the near future. My primary purpose in sharing my story is to help others, and I will proceed in a way that maximizes that impact.
